What is FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding in Football Recertification?
Whether you first completed the FIFA Guardians™ Course 1, Safeguarding Essentials, as a Nominated FIFA Learner or a Global Football Community Learner, you will need to refresh your knowledge of these essential principles regularly. You may even be required to do this, whether periodically because of your Member Association or football organisation’s policies, or to participate in a football event.
Here is where you can enrol on and complete the FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding Essentials course to refresh your level of knowledge on safeguarding in football and recertify.

FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding Essentials
Whether you are involved in football in a voluntary or paid role, either for FIFA, a FIFA Member Association, a club, or as a Safeguarding Officer, a volunteer, a coach, manager, agent, referee, or through another important role such as an Academy Director, Technical Director, physiotherapist or medic, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
FIFA encourages everyone to refresh your essential safeguarding knowledge on a regular basis. This short course is divided into three 30-minute sessions for you to study at your own pace.
This course is for recertification on the FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding Essentials course only. It will enable you to earn a FIFA Certificate and Open University Digital Badge to confirm your recertification. You should have already, previously completed the FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding Essentials (Course 1) as part of either the Nominated FIFA Learner or Global Football Community Learner pathway, as the recertification course will not count towards your FIFA Guardians™ Diploma or Award. You ’ll need to enrol on the recertification course by clicking the Recertify button below.
Download and save your FIFA Recertification Certificate!
Your certificate will reflect the date on which you last successfully completed the recertification course and will only be available to download for 12 months. After 12 months, your course completion record will reset. This is to enable you to recertify again, when required in the future.
