What is FIFA Guardians™Â Course 1 Safeguarding Essentials Recertification?
This FIFA Guardians™ Course 1 Safeguarding Essentials Recertification is for you if you have previously completed Course 1 through either the Nominated FIFA Learner pathway or the Global Football Community Learner pathway and wish to refresh your safeguarding knowledge. Recertification may be required by your organisation.

FIFA Guardians™ Safeguarding Essentials
Safeguarding in football is everyone’s responsibility. Whether you are involved in football in a voluntary or paid role, either for FIFA, a FIFA Member Association, a club, or as a Safeguarding Officer, a volunteer, a coach, manager, agent, referee, or through another important role such as an Academy Director, Technical Director, physiotherapist or medic, everyone has a role to play in safeguarding.
FIFA encourages everyone who has already completed Course 1 to refresh your essential safeguarding knowledge on a regular basis.
This 90-minute course is divided into three 30-minute sessions for you to study at your own pace.
This course is for FIFA Guardians™ Course 1 Safeguarding Essentials Recertification ONLY. It will enable you to earn a certificate to confirm your recertification. You must have already, previously completed the FIFA Guardians™ Course 1 Safeguarding Essentials through either the Nominated FIFA Learner pathway or Global Football Community Learner pathway. This recertification course will NOT contribute towards your FIFA Guardians™ Diploma or Award. To enrol on the recertification course, click the Recertify button below.
IMPORTANT: Download and save your FIFA Recertification Certificate!
Your certificate will reflect the date on which you most recently completed the recertification course and will be available to download for 12 months only. Please ensure you download and securely retain a copy within this period. After 12 months your course completion record will be reset and cannot be recovered. This enables you to retake the course in the future if required.
